I was given a Dell laptop running XP Professional. When XP is booted I get a logon screen with the original owner's name on it and wanting a password. I have logged in and changed the password and changed the name to my own. I have even created a user account with my name in it.
The logon screen remains unaffected other than it now wants the new password -- the name remains as it was. So, does anyone know what magic is required to change the name on the login? I would add that my new user account is not offered up on that first login sheet. On my Gateway PC running just XP Home, all of the userids are offered up so you can login with any one of the ids.
