Port Triggering - Belkin Routers/Modems

If your router is not listed on this site or in the programs I can add them!
By adding your router I can create all the guides, screenshot databases and have your router work in my programs.
All you need to do is use my easy to use router screen capture program. This will make getting me the data easy and simple.

Port Triggering Guide

Note: An added benefit of Port Triggering is you do not need to worry about ip addresses.

When using port triggering with applications that don't make outbound connections you can use my free
Port Triggering Initiator to make the connections to trigger the ports for you.

Step 1.

Open your favorite web browser and input your routers ip address in the address bar.
Please note that you must have the http:// in order to connect to your router/modem properly.

Need help finding you router IP address? Click here

Step 2.

Put in your username and password, then click 'Log In'

If you don't know it you can check our list of default router and modem password list here.

If you have changed it and don't remember it you may have to reset your device to factory default using the reset button on most routers.

Step 3.

Once logged into your router click on "Firewall"

Once the page has loaded click on "Application Gateways"

Step 4.

In the "Triggered Start Port" enter the port to be used as the trigger.
Example: 3000

In the "Trigger End Port" enter the port to be forwarded. 
Example: 4000

Next choose your "Trigger Type"

Now enter your "Public Port"
Example: 3000

Choose your "Public Type"

Be sure to check "Enable"

Repeat this steps for all ports.

Click "Apply Changes"

All Done!

For "Application Name" give your entry a name, it must not be the same as any others on this page.

In the "Triggered Port Range" enter the ports to be used as the trigger.
Example: 3000 to 4000

Choose your "Trigger Protocol"

In the "Public Port" enter the port to be forwarded. 
Example: 3000

Choose your "Public Protocol"

Be sure to check "Enable"

Repeat this steps for all ports.

Click "Apply"

All Done!

Once the page has loaded click on "APPLICATION RULES"

Step 4.

Once the page has loaded be sure to check the box to the left of "Name"

For "Name" give your entry a name, it must not be the same as any others on this page.
Note: You can leave "Application" at it's default of Application Name.

In the "Port Trigger" enter the port to be used as the trigger.
Example: 3000

In the "Port Firewall" enter the port to be forwarded. 
Example: 4000

Choose your "Traffic Type" on the upper and lower drop downs.

You can leave "Schedule" at it's default.

Repeat this steps for all ports.

Click "Save Settings"

All Done!

For automatic port forwarding try Simple Port Forwarding

Step 1.

Some routers & modems work best with port forwarding if you have a static local IP.
Manually set your network interface card ( NIC ) to use a static ip address.
You can also download my FREE Simple Static IP tool to set it for you.

Step 2.

Open your favorite web browser and input your routers ip address in the address bar.
Please note that you must have the http:// in order to connect to your router/modem properly.

Step 3.

Some router/modems require a username and/or password, if yours requires it, enter the routers username and password here.

If you have changed it and don't remember it you may have to reset your device to factory default using the reset button on most routers.

Step 4.

Once logged into your router click on "Advanced Setup"

Once the page has loaded click on "NAT" and then "Virtual Servers"

Now click on "Add" to move on to the Port Forwarding page.

Step 5.

Give your entry a name under "Service Name"

Next choose the "Protocol" you would like to use.

For "External Port" enter the starting ports to be forwarded. You can use a single port or a range.
Example: 2100 or 2100-3100

In "Internal Port" enter the ending ports to be forwarded.  Here you can also use a single port or a range.
Example: 3100 or 2100-4100

Enter the computers IP address in "Internal Server IP Address"

Click "Apply"

Repeat step 5 for any more ports you want to forward.
